TEC Engineering, Inc.
TEC Engineering, Inc., a multi-national transportation engineering corporation with local offices in Cincinnati and Dayton, Ohio, has been honored with an International Roads Federation (IRF) Global Achievement Award for their Intelligent Transportation Systems Master Plan for the country of Saudi Arabia. IRF recognizes organizations that demonstrate significant achievements in maximizing existing infrastructure to accommodate traffic growth, using advanced traffic management concepts or systems.
TEC’s Master Plan, completed in 2006, sets forth a detailed deployment plan for “intelligent” infrastructure throughout the country of Saudi Arabia, designed to monitor traffic conditions and provide traveler information systems for the nation’s over-congested highways.

Heapy Engineering
Heapy was selected as the Energy Performance, Sustainability and LEED Training provider for the US Department of Veterans Affairs. This contract involves training all of the VAs Energy Engineers on the topics of LEED and Sustainability.
Heapy Engineering was awarded the Mechanical-Electrical Systems design contract on The Ohio State Universitys $165 Million, 185,000 SF West of Cannon Ambulatory Outpatient and Research Center.

Heapy Engineering
Heapy Engineering recently opened an office in Indianapolis, Indiana. The office provides Mechanical, Electrical and Technology Systems Design, and LEED and Commissioning Services for the Healthcare, Education, Government, and Commercial Building markets. Heapy Engineering is currently providing services (LEED, M-E Design and/or Commissioning) for over 100 projects. To date, Heapy has been involved with 14 projects that have achieved their LEED certification! (5 GOLD, 4 SILVER, 5 CERTIFIED). Wright State University Diggs Laboratory with BHDP (Gold), Spartech Plastics (Silver), Holophane R&D (Silver) and City of Cincinnati Fire Station #9 (Certified) are the latest projects to earn their LEED Certification.

KLH Engineers
You may have heard that the Fernald Preserve Visitors Center is now Ohio’s first certified LEED-Platinum building.
KLH Engineers is proud to have served as the LEED consultant for the mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering design.
KLH also provided design services for the electrical system, for the communication technology systems, and lighting.
Not only is it Ohio’s first certified LEED Platinum project, but it is the second certified LEED Platinum project of the Dept. of Energy; and 1 of only 100 certified LEED Platinum projects worldwide.

Megen Construction Company & glaserworks Architecture
Once a pre-engineered steel warehouse located on a $4.4 billion Superfund cleanup site, the Fernald Preserve Visitors Center is now Ohios first certified LEED-Platinum building.
The $3 million, 10,800-square-foot Visitors Center was created by the design/build team of Megen Construction Company and glaserworks Architecture. The firms, which had separately completed Silver LEED buildings, paired for the first time on the Fernald project and struck Platinum. |

KLH Engineers is pleased to report that our office building has earned the Energy Star rating! The Energy Star is the mark of the superior energy performance and identifies our building as one of the most efficient buildings in the nation. Commercial buildings that earn the Energy Star use an average of 40 percent less energy than typical buildings and also release 35 percent less carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. KLH Engineers is pleased to accept EPA’s Energy Star in recognition of our energy efficiency efforts. Through this achievement, we have demonstrated our commitment to environmental stewardship while also lowering our energy costs. |
